About Data Diaries

Data Diaries is what happens when you sit with data long enough to hear what it's actually saying.

Each story is built on publicly available data — government statistics, regulatory filings, and official surveys. The focus is on what the numbers are indicating, what they're missing, and why it matters.

Every piece is fully traceable back to its source.

Readers can dig deeper through an AI assistant that's familiar with each story's data — ask it a question, and it will tell you whether the answer comes from the dataset or from general knowledge.

"Published selectively — when the data has something worth saying."

Whose lens are we looking through

I work at the intersection of data, finance, and compliance — with a focus on how information can be made more usable, not just more available.

Over the years, my work has involved building systems and products around GST, e-invoicing, and MSME finance — areas where I kept finding that the most interesting story was never the obvious one.

Data Diaries is an extension of that journey — a space to step back from the systems and read what the data is actually saying.
